Join Cape Fear GSCA-Support JP Walker & Family

Please join the Cape Fear GSCA to Support JP Walker and his Family on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Eagle Point Golf Club.

We will shotgun start at 10:00am. Registration will begin at 8:15am.

We will play a 4-man Captains Choice format

The Cost is $200 per man/$800 per team

Lunch and Oyster Roast following golf included

Golf Pro Shop will be open before and after golf with some great deals on merchandise

WE ARE LIMITED TO 100 GOLF PLAYERS

We are LOOKING FOR SPONSORS-Please let us know if you are interested.

PLEASE PRE-REGISTER IN ORDER TO COUNT FOR LUNCH and OYSTERS

In order to have as many local supporters for the tournament, we will hold registration for this event for Cape Fear GCSA members and friends of JP’s until November 8, 2019. After that date we will open registration to anyone who would like to play. We will also be needing some carts to finish out our field. If your club can let us use several carts for that date it would be greatly appreciated.

History: Wilson, North Carolina’s story has captivated the imagination of the country. Farm machinery repairman, Vollis Simpson, began making gigantic kinetic sculptures at his family farm in Wilson County when he was nearing retirement age. He kept making his “whirligigs”–seven days a week–until about six months before he dies at the age of 94 in May of 2013. By that time he was famous. The story of Wilson’s campaign to use the renowned whirligigs to recharge its downtown has catapulted the community into the national spotlight. Grants from ArtPlace America, the Kresge Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts have helped the project come close to its goal of opening the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and Museum.
